Children who are five years old on or before September 1 are eligible to begin Kindergarten. Parents can pre-register their child for the upcoming school year. Screening and pre-registration will take place as early as Feburary. Call your home school or the Keil Administration Office (217.362-3014) for further information. Teacher assignments and bussing information will be available in August.
Schedule Appoinment for a Kindergarten Screening:
Visit www.dps61.org/prekscreening and submit the request for a screening. A representative from school will contact you to confirm a date and time for your child's screening. Screenings begin February 16th. For the full screening schedule click here.
Kindergarten Registration Checklist:
In order to help facilitate the registration process please have the following items with you when registering your student(s).
» Copy of Certified Birth Certificate
» Supplemental Documents regarding Health History (see checklist below)
» Parental Consent Form (Field trip, Publicity and Computer Use)
Kindergarten Health Checklist (for Parents/Guardians):
» Dental Exam - (dated within 18 months of the first day of school)
» Vision Exam - (must be completed by October 15th)
Immunizations as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Please turn in your child's immunization records to the school nurse. He/She will review to see if your child needs any further immunizations.
