Mrs. Hull

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Hull

Hello! My name is Megan Hull and this is my first year teaching at Muffley! I am the 3rd-4th SED teacher, in Room 16! I attended Decatur Public Schools from Kindergarten to 9th grade and then my 10th grade year my family moved and I graduated high school from Okaw Valley High School in Bethany Illinois. I graduated with a Bachelor in Science of Special Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in May 2017.  I have always wanted to become a teacher, but I had no idea I wanted to teacher students with special needs until I went to college.  I worked a summer camp in Decatur called Camp-I-Can after my freshman year of college and knew from then that Special Education was made for me to teach!

While I studied at SIU in Carbondale I had many different placements in diverse school settings.  I have taught high school SED, self-contained, co-taught 5th grade which included students with and without IEPs, and I also taught a whole year of high school math which was also co-taught as well as self-contained.  I loved working with a wide range of students from the three different buildings and communities down in Southern Illinois. After I graduated college, I decided that I wanted to come back and teach in Decatur Public Schools.  This district provided me with the majority of my education and I wanted to give back to the district that helped form me into the person I am today.  I am so proud to be teaching in this district, and I hope that I can make a impact on my students and the community.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, who I actually met on the very first day of freshman orientation at MacArthur High School, here in Decatur!  We have been married for two years.  He is a Mechanical Engineer.  I also have almost two year old black lab/german shepard mix dog, named Ramsay.  He is so sweet and a 120 pound cuddle bug!  Our family is getting bigger at the moment, my husband and I are expecting our first child in January, a sweet baby girl! We could not be more excited.

Like I said, I am SO excited to be teaching at Muffley! The staff here is wonderful and incredibly welcoming.  Their passion for the students is inspiring and makes me eager to get to work there this fall.  Let's make this year a great one! Go Mustangs!!
