WHAT SHOULD BE SEEN IN THE CLASSROOM?
Positive student participation
Hands, feet and other objects kept to yourselves
Be nice—BECAUSE NICE MATTERS
Be RESPECTFUL to others; especially when speaking to teachers and other students
Each student should be in dress code
Students sitting in assigned seat READY TO LEARN and stay in assigned seat until exit bell rings
Bring a pen or pencil to class DAILY!
Bring school provided electronic device (iPad)
Bottled water is the only beverage allowed in the classrooms
Classroom behavior determines pass privileges. Those students tardy to class will not receive any “privileges” that period. i.e. passes to restroom, drink, locker, library, etc. Please return ALL passes to Ms. Tucker.
WHAT SHOULD NOT BE SEEN/HEARD IN THE CLASSROOM?
Conversation or MUSIC during instruction. Light conversation, ear buds, cell phone, iPads, etc are welcomed AFTER daily lesson is finished.
Food (unless provided by the teacher OR . . . unless enough is brought for ALL!)
Gum should not be heard; bubbles and wrappers not seen
Cell phones are put away until class discussion is completed
Students should not mess with window blinds or adjust the thermostat.
We do not have enough textbooks to go around. Any textbooks MUST stay in the classroom.
Workbooks have been turned into worksheets. They may leave the classroom.
On ALL assignments, students must include: first name, last name, and class period.
Grading will be based on Total Points. There will be no weighted grading. Late Work Policy is in accordance with SB100. Please refer to DPS61 Handbook and Code of Conduct for district policy on cheating, plagiarism and paraphrasing. Late work will be accepted at FULL CREDIT as long as it is turned in within a week.
90 – 100% = A
80 – 89% = B
70 – 79% = C
60 – 69% = D
0 – 59% = F
