Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Madeline Morthland and this is now my second year teaching at Muffley and my third year teaching in Decatur Public Schools. I am the 2nd-4th SED teacher in Room 18. I am a Decatur Public Schools alumni all the way from Kindergarten through 12thgrade. I graduated from Millikin University in 2018 with a Bachelor IN Science in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. I fell in love with teaching and SED specifically during my senior year of High school after shadowing a retired SED teacher also at Muffley. Following that internship I knew I wanted to become a teacher and more specifically a special education teacher. Throughout my time at Millikin I had multiple placements throughout this district and loved working with a wide range of students. Following graduation I knew that I wanted to come back and give to the district that gave me so much and helped me become the person I am today. I hope that I can do the same for my students that so many wonderful teachers that I had in this district did for me. I am excited to learn and grow with this Muffley staff. GO Mustangs!
