Health Expo

• Students will research a health issue, its causes and effects, and possible solutions. They develop a health issue essay and use this research to develop a health expo exhibit. PE, Art, Music, Food, Health, and Tech/Engineering coaches teach lessons, and provide lessons for teachers to use, as well as set up opportunities for engagement with community providers.

Capstone

• Students will research independently or in pairs to learn about a topic they find interesting. They will develop their own essential questions, define their own research questions, and create a written piece in one of the three modes (informational, narrative, or argument) about their chosen topic. They will select an appropriate technology tool and develop a technology component for their research and writing. Finally they will present their research to the rest of the class with PE, Art, Music, Food, Health, and Tech/Engineering coaches teacher lessons, and provide lessons for teachers to use, as well as set up opportunities for engagement with community providers.
