Message From the Principal, Mrs. Dianne Brandt

    August 2018

Welcome Oak Grove Families, Staff and Community!!

My name is Dianne Brandt and I am excited to be your new principal for the 2018-2019 school year.  I have worked in Decatur Public Schools for 21 years in various roles. You will see many new faces among the staff at Oak Grove and we have been preparing for the upcoming school year.

At Oak Grove Elementary, we know that our strong focus and commitment to educating the whole child will prepare our students for Middle School, High School, Higher Education, and their careers.  We recognize learning happens both inside and outside of the classroom.  Our extra-curriculuar activites help our students explore their interests and allow them to creatively apply what they learn in the classroom while responding to their social and emotional needs.

We recognize the importance of family involvement and we encourage parents to volunteer at the school, as well as providing them with the tools to support their child's education at home.  We envision a school climate that embraces our diversity, where every child can succeed academically and socially.  Our graduates will continue to take ownership of their learning, be invested in their communities, and be well-prepared to compete in a global society.

Here at Oak Grove, we are proud of our culture which encourages all of our student to "Be Safe, Respectful, Responsible, Peaceful Problem Solvers.  We are committed to preparing our students for college and ultimately a successful career and life.  We look forward to getting to know you and your student better and working toward our ultimate goal of "Educating Students for Lifelong Success".

On behalf of Oak Grove School's administration, staff, and Booster Club, I want to extend a hearty welcome to you as we kick off our 2018-2019 school year.

    Sincerely,

    Dianne Brandt, Principal
