• PBIS -- Positive Behavior Intervention Supports

We are beginning our second year of PBIS and it has worked well with helping lower the number of referrals and build more positive behavior in our school.  Students are taught the 3-B’s:
Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.
As students display their positive behavior, Parsons staff is watching and they may be rewarded with an owl ticket.  Students can save their tickets for a trip to the PBIS Store and purchase items.  This has a two-fold result.  The behavior improves and they also learn to save and be responsible to keep track of the amount they need to purchase the item they want to buy from the PBIS Store.

Then just "out of the blue", students come to school to find out it is an Out of the Blue Day.  Parsons staff will be wearing their blue shirts and there will be a wonderful special event planned for the students to participate in during the school day.  We have played kickball, created crafts, enjoyed bounce houses, watched movies and munched on popcorn.  Students just never know when it might be an Out of the Blue Day.
