Lynnette Rotramel, Instructional Specialist

  • I'm an instructional specialist for Eisenhower High School in Decatur, Illinois. Previously, I taught English Language Arts for 9 years and 5th grade self-contained for 1 year. I graduated from the first cohort of the University of Illinois’s New Learning Master’s Degree program (preK-12) in 2010. My current research focus is research-based literacy instruction, content-area reading and writing instruction for grades 4-12, addressing achievement gaps in education, and the effects of poverty and chronic stress on children in school.

  • What does an instructional specialist do?

Instructional Specialists at Decatur Public Schools have three main responsibilities: literacy, mentoring teachers, and technology integration in the classroom.
