Hello Current and Former Panthers!
My name is Ron Lybarger, I am the head of the English Department at Eisenhower. I have called EHS my home for 16 years now and I plan on teaching another 16 before I head into the wilderness and eventually to where the "path ends in the clearing" (a Dark Tower Novel Series by Stephen King reference).
I am originally from Charleston IL, and attended Eastern Illinois University for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. I got into teaching, because I cherish learning and the application of knowledge to the betterment of mankind. I have 5 children, I enjoy nature (hiking, swimming, camping); I have written many, many poems and am the sponsor of Veritas Creative Writing Club; I also sponsor the Chess Club. I get enjoyment out of watching movies, reading novels (Stephen King for Sure!), drawing, and playing sports with my kiddos. I have found a certain stress relieving peace in lifting weights as well.
I attempt to better myself every single day paying special attention to all sides of who I am: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical.
I hope to learn together with you in the classroom, but most importantly I hope you all apply what you have learned about English Language Arts and the Human Condition in order to make this a "more perfect union" and a better world to live in.
Also, Mr. Coziahr is my hero.
