Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Thomas Beller

I grew up in the south Chicago suburbs.  I'm a lifelong Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fan.  My passion for sports compelled to me to pursue a career in physical education.  Before I graduated, my focus changed, and my career interests led to business management.

After many years, I decided once again to pursue a degree in teaching, and in 2011, I received my elementary education certification from Millikin University.  My first teaching job was at Hope Academy in middle school science.  I also spent time teaching sixth grade at Oak Grove Elementary.  In 2016, I began teaching middle school science again, this time at Stephen Decatur.  I was also able to begin coaching again in 2014 for the Eisenhower Panthers.  I coached girls softball and football, but am currently content with coaching baseball for our own Stephen Decatur Runnin' Reds.

When I'm not at school or on the football field, I'm with my family.  My wife is an instructional specialist at SDMS.  Together, we have five children:  Calleigh, Katie, Hayden, Ally and Jack.  Between their school and extra-curricular events, and our own, we are a pretty busy family.
