Department Overview
The Director of Human Resources oversees all human capital management functions for Decatur Public Schools (DPS) and the Macon-Piatt Special Education District (MPSED). The department ensures the delivery of high-quality employment services, effective recruitment and hiring practices, salary administration, and all aspects of human resources support. She is also responsible for managing employee and labor union relations across the two districts.
The department provides strategic direction for the district’s Recruitment and Retention initiatives, aligning workforce planning with district goals. The Director regularly compiles and presents vacancy reports, hiring trends, and administrative data to the Superintendent and the Board of Education, offering insights to guide decision-making.
The Director of HR is an active member of both the Executive Cabinet and the District Leadership Team, contributing to district-wide strategy and operational planning.
