Roadmap2030

The mission of Decatur Public Schools is to engage and empower students through a high-quality education where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Roadmap 2030 is our Strategic and Master Facility Planning process to achieve this vision.

In Phases I and II, the community had multiple opportunities to engage in the process via online surveys and public community forums. This work produced a strategic plan on a page which includes: mission, vision, values/beliefs and five strategic goals for DPS61. In these phases, the Roadmap 2030 Committee also worked to analyze the district’s Strengths, Weaknesses, Threats and Opportunities (SWOT Analysis).

In Phase III DPS61 administration, district staff and individual schools will focus on implementing the District's systemic continuous improvement and alignment model. Each department and school building will create its own set of strategic goals and metrics to track the progress and success of each goal.

In Phase IV the Roadmap 2030 Committee will also resume meetings to develop a Long-Range Master Facility Plan that aligns the District's facilities with its strategic direction, projected enrollment, educational priorities and long-term financial capacity.
