I would like to welcome everyone to Michael E. Baum Elementary School. Academic excellence has long been the standard at Baum and we look forward to working with you and your students in that continued tradition.

Michael E. Baum School, named in memory of a Decatur veteran who lost his life during the Vietnamese Conflict on July 19, 1970, opened its doors in 1975. Our school colors are purple and white, and we are respectfully known as the Baum Bears. Our dedicated staff and I pledge to provide a challenging and rewarding experience for your child(ren). We invite you to become involved with the educational program at Baum to ensure a strong cooperative effort between the home and school. Our doors are always open for visitors and we encourage parents to observe, be part of the volunteer program, and to participate on school committees.
