Department Overview
-
Decatur Public Schools recognizes that strong Support Services are essential to fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment for all students. The Assistant Superintendent of Support Services provides leadership for the following departments: Student Services (which includes Health Services), Information Technology, and the Research, Data, and Accountability teams, to ensure each student is supported academically, emotionally, and physically.
Through the Student Services Department, we prioritize the overall well-being of our students by providing access to counseling, behavioral support, and health services, ensuring students are ready to learn each day. Our Health Services team partners with families and community health providers to promote healthy habits and respond to student medical needs with compassion and care.
Information Technology enhances teaching and learning by integrating digital tools and resources into classrooms. An Instructional Technology Coordinator supports teachers with training and technology implementation that prepares students for a modern, connected world.
Our Research, Data, and Accountability (Research) team plays a critical role in monitoring progress and evaluating the impact of programs and interventions. By analyzing data and reporting on student performance, this team helps drive informed decision-making at every level of the district.
Together, the Support Service departments form a collaborative network dedicated to removing barriers, closing opportunity gaps, and ensuring that every student has the resources and support needed to succeed in school.
