    Step 2: Complete and submit your application

    • Please make sure you have the following materials for your application, if needed or required. 
      • Cover Letter
      • Resume
      • Transcripts from all colleges and universities (as applicable; unofficial copies accepted)
      • Three current letters of professional reference (preferred, not required)

    Step 3. Application Review and Interview

    • All completed and submitted applications will be reviewed after the close date.
    • Applicants who best meet the qualifications of the position will be invited to interview. You will be notified by email or phone if you are invited to interview. The email address and phone number on your application will be used. Please be sure to have updated contact information on your application. 

    Step 4. Contingent Offer of Employment

    • Recommended hires will be contacted by phone if you are selected for the position.
    • Recommended hires must have the appropriate and current licensure and endorsements, if applicable to the position. 
      • All licenses and endorsements will be confirmed by Human Resources. 
    • Salary placement is based upon verification of prior years' experience and receipt of official transcripts (as applicable).
    • All recommended hires are approved by the school board. 

    Step 5. Background Screening and Fingerprinting with Bushue Background Screening

    • Your employment offer is contingent on a clear background screening and fingerprinting results.
    • Applicants are responsible for scheduling their appointment to complete the background check and fingerprinting. Call 217.342.3042 or toll-free at 877.342.3042 to schedule.

    Step 6. Employment History Review with Bushue Background Screening

    • Your employment offer is contingent on completion of the Employment History Review per Faith’s Law Requirements.   
    • Human Resources will provide instructions after a contingent offer has been made. 

    Step 7. Official Employment Offer! 

    • Human Resources will receive your background screening and employment history review results to determine if you are still eligible for a position with DPS.
    • After the above tasks are completed, results are cleared and the offer is accepted verbally, you are an official member of the DPS Team!
    • You will then receive your start date and onboarding packet.
