The Department of Innovative Programs works to ensure all DPS students have access to unique, innovative learning experiences. The goal is to develop, sustain, and create meaningful learning opportunities, both inside and outside of the classroom, for all PreK-12 students district-wide. The Innovative Programs team also works to build community partnerships to connect our community to our students, while giving DPS students access to innovative experiences they wouldn't get anywhere else.
Innovative Programs focuses on College and Career Readiness, including career pathways that set students up for success beyond high school. We've also developed The Prep Academy program — DPS students enrolled in the program earn their Associate's Degree for FREE in the same four years they're earning their high school diploma.
We also recognize the need for families to have access to wrap-around services outside of the time that students are in the classroom. That's why we offer a FREE Extended Day before and after school program at PreK-8 sites across our District.
