  • Personal Electronic Devices

CHANGES to POLICY 7:190 - STUDENT BEHAVIOR (CELL PHONES)

On July 16, 2024, DPS#61 Board of Education approved changes to the personal electronic device policy. All changes can be found in the Student Code of Conduct & Parent Handbook as well as in Policy 7:190 Student Behavior. Click here to read the full Policy 7:190

The district strongly encourages families to keep their student’s cell phone, earbuds, smart watches, and other electronic devices at home as district/staff will NOT be held responsible for items left, lost, stolen, or damaged. 4th offense and beyond: Student will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct.

  • School Supplies

**Exciting News for the Upcoming School Year!**  The District recognizes the importance of students having the supplies they need to ensure a positive learning environment. Thanks to grant funding and a partnership with School Supply Boxes, students in DPS#61 will receive a complimentary 45-piece school supply box THIS academic year, which starts on Monday, August 12, 2024. Each student entering kindergarten through eighth grade will receive a school supply box that will include Crayola brand crayons, markers, and colored pencils, Elmer glue/glue sticks, and Dixon #2 pencils. Headphones have also been purchased for K-8 students.

NOTE: While these supplies cover most needs, parents may choose to purchase additional supplies. While the supply boxes are packed with essential items to enhance the learning experience of our students, schools may request families to provide specific additional items such as disinfectant wipes, Kleenex, or Ziploc baggies, etc. Additional details on these requests will be provided by your child's school.
